What a summer it has been for StartSmart children’s clothing!

From the Great Yorkshire Show to the Game Fair, we’ve enjoyed wonderful weather, fantastic country events and, most importantly, the opportunity to see so many of our lovely customers. As a traditional British children’s clothing brand inspired by the outdoors, there’s nowhere we’d rather be than at the UK’s best country shows, agricultural shows and equestrian events.

And now, after a busy few weeks on the road, we’re getting ready for our favourite event of the calendar — Burghley Horse Trials!

The Great Yorkshire Show – A Fabulous Week in the Sunshine

Our summer shows got off to a fantastic start at the Great Yorkshire Show, and what an event it was.

The sunshine certainly helped create an incredible atmosphere, and it was wonderful to welcome so many familiar faces back to the StartSmart stand. One of the best things about attending the UK’s biggest country and agricultural shows is seeing returning customers year after year — some of you have been shopping with us for your children’s country clothing for generations!

Of course, it was equally lovely to meet so many new customers looking for traditional children’s clothing, country clothing for boys and girls, equestrian-inspired children’s wear and quality British-style clothing for children.

There was plenty to watch in the show ring too. John Whitaker took the Cock O’ The North title for the seventh time, narrowly beating James Whitaker. It made for fantastic viewing and was a brilliant addition to an already memorable Great Yorkshire Show.

In fact, it was our best ever Great Yorkshire Show!

Straight from Yorkshire to the Game Fair

There was barely time to catch our breath before we headed straight to the Game Fair — and thankfully, the glorious summer weather continued.

The Game Fair is always a highlight for us. It’s the perfect setting for StartSmart, with its celebration of the British countryside, country lifestyle, outdoor activities and traditional country clothing.

Saturday was particularly special, becoming our second-best ever show day!

We honestly can’t thank each and every one of our customers enough. Whether you’ve been shopping with StartSmart for years or discovered us for the first time at the Game Fair, your support means everything to our small business.

From Sale Rails to Summer Dresses – You Cleared Us Out!

One thing was certainly clear after the Great Yorkshire Show and Game Fair — you loved the StartSmart collections!

Our sale stock was well and truly depleted. Rails that had started the summer packed with clothing were suddenly looking very empty indeed!

Our children’s summer dresses proved particularly popular, along with our ever-popular range of children’s pyjamas.

From beautiful traditional clothing for girls to practical and stylish clothing for boys, it was fantastic to see so many of you choosing StartSmart for your children’s wardrobes.

And yes… we even noticed a few of you getting ahead with your Christmas shopping!

We’re not sure whether we should mention that word just yet… but perhaps it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas gifts for children, especially when you spot something perfect at a country show!

Time to Reorder, Restock & Prepare for Burghley

After two incredibly busy shows, we finally had a little time to debrief, take stock and get organised.

With so much of our stock flying off the rails, it was definitely time for some serious reordering and restocking.

We’ve been busy making sure our shelves and rails are filled with the quality children’s clothing you love, ready for our next major event.

And that event is one we look forward to every year…

Burghley Horse Trials is our favourite show of the calendar, and we simply cannot wait to be back.
